Lesions of the nerve produce weakness of flexion at the elbow and weakness of supination. The biceps is an important supinator. There is sensory loss on the lateral side of the forearm. The brachialis muscle receives innervation from both the musculocutaneous nerve and the radial nerve. [7] [8] One study found that the musculocutaneous nerve contributes to 42% of the muscle power that flexes the elbow. [9]
